New Mix Idea

I have idea for new Mix. But... I don't want post about it on bemani. Not now. I want know what you think about this.

Which kind of mix I want make? Oldschool Mix. Song from Commdore, NES, Amiga etc. Ofcoz not only games.

But first I want to know what people think about this idea.

I have question for you guys. Can you want help me?

Please, write what you think about this idea. Mabye we can create a new... Hm... Original (it means "original idea) mix :)

Sounds good. As far as non-game sims go, you could do songs by groups like the Sugar Hill Gang, Specials, Madness, the Clash. Parliament Funkadelic and other 70's and early 80's groups.

Another thing I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with or not - I've always toyed with the idea of stepping out classic Schoolhouse Rock songs - the original ones.

Ok. We have some rules.

Code:: 1. Available platforms:
-> Commodore 64128VIC20
-> Every Atari
-> Amiga
-> NES
-> SNES
-> Every SEGA
-> ZX Spectrum
2. Sims:
-> 1 person can submit 5 simfiles.
-> At least one file MUST be non-game song (may be from demoscene songanything)
-> Song must be writen in years 1985-1997
-> Every sim MUST have 3 graphics files - BG, BN and CDTitle.
-> Every sim MUST have 4 levels: Beginner (1-2), Light (3-5), Standard (6-7) and Heavy (7-10). Oni is optional and may be rated +10.
-> Every sim MUST be padable. Keyboard steps are alowed as Edit.
-> Song must be in mp3 or better - in ogg format.
-> Video is alowed if is compressed in Xvid and file size is Song lenght: 1:00-2:30.
-> Double Stepping is NOT alowed at all.
3. Graphics:
-> Background image: 640x480
-> Banner: 256x80
-> CDTitle: 100x100 or less.
4. Deadline:
-> Deadline is ??
-> Mix Relase date: ??

I think that W1P3OUT should have a simfile contest, and then get it on the front page of bemanistyle.com and stepmania.com. He then would choose the best simfiles, and maybe redo the graphics.

It sunds like a solid idea. My question is about the non-game songs.

So, let's say it's a song played behind a gameplay demo, like on the NiGHTS into Dreams Sampler Disc. Would that song fall into the category of "non-game?"

I'll think no.

A "non-game" song means that it's not connected to any game by any means. This also includes trailers, demos, etc.

I'll think about deadline. I guess actuall deadline gives too small time to make sims. Actuall deadline is unknown. If you have questions\ideas - write here Smile

I like it. I actually have a couple of files that may fit the bill on my to-do list; like PwrMixes of Killer Cuts (The Killer Instinct OST) and King of Fighters '96, anyhow. In fact, all kinds of diversifications are coming to mind with it.
